Statement on COVID-19 and the LearningElite Gala

[Updated March 26, 2020; new information in bold]

Now more than ever we realize just how important community is. The concern shown by everyone as we all grapple with the challenges of the coronavirus underlines how special the people who make up the Chief Learning Officer community are.

Over the last two weeks, we’ve been working through options as we monitor the situation for both the CLO Symposium and the LearningElite Gala next month. One thing that is increasingly clear is how important it is to bring people together, support one another and share ideas and practices to get us through the time ahead.

After much consideration, we have decided the best option to serve our community is to transition both the Spring 2020 CLO Symposium and the LearningElite Gala to virtual events. The virtual CLO Symposium will be held April 20-22. The date of the virtual LearningElite Gala is still being decided.

At the moment, many details are still being hammered out. Electronic PDF scorecards will be emailed to all participants as in previous years. We are working out the logistics of having the physical awards shipped to all LE winners. We will reach out in the coming days with further details.

We want to give the learning community a chance to celebrate as we grapple with disruption to business as usual. Ensuring our ability to be there for each other is our top priority. Putting on a virtual Gala is our way of celebrating in the face of adversity.

Thank you all for your patience and continued support. Our events team will remain in touch and we will continue to update you and the community. In the meantime, please reach out directly if you have any questions.
